Meet the vision experts of North Texas

The Sawyer brothers are both graduates of Granbury High School and Abilene Christian University. Caleb Sawyer completed his medical and ophthalmology training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. William Sawyer attended medical school at UNT TCOM and went on to pursue ophthalmology and cornea training in Dayton and Columbus, Ohio, at The Ohio State University. With state-of-the-art equipment, an inviting clinic atmosphere and a genuine interest in the well-being of their patients, the doctors proudly offer the very best in vision care.

Eye Physician | Surgeon Board Ophthalmologist | Cornea Specialist

William Sawyer, DO is a board-certified fellowship trained corneal specialist. Dr. Sawyer specializes in cataract and refractive surgery and is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal and ocular infections. He brings corneal transplantations to Weatherford and Granbury. Dr. Sawyer has gained experience and compassion treating highly complex diseases as the only cornea specialist in Northeast Arkansas for many years. He has also practiced in New Braunfels, Texas and participated in medical mission trips to San Ignacio, Belize. Dr. Sawyer grew up in Granbury, Texas. Before medical school, Dr. Sawyer graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Abilene Christian University, in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center- Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Sawyer served his ophthalmology residency at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He went on to advance his training by completing a fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases of the Eye at The Ohio State University. Since his time in residency and fellowship, Dr. Sawyer has been an active member in many professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Osteopathic Association, and the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology. He has been on panels and given lectures at ophthalmic conferences. Dr. Sawyer is a three time recipient of the Patrick Murray Award in recognition for the highest ophthalmology exam scores among osteopathic physicians in the United States. During his time at Ohio State he was recognized as The Teaching Fellow of the Year for his ability to teach residents and further their knowledge in ophthalmology. Dr. Sawyer’s wife, Natalie, is an advocacy fellow of The March of Dimes. They have four sons. Dr. Sawyer enjoys backpacking, fishing, and snowmobiling.

Eye Physician | Surgeon Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Caleb Sawyer, MD, is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist—a medical and surgical eye physician. He specializes in customized laser-assisted cataract surgery utilizing the latest generation of multifocal and astigmatism correcting lens. He also treats a variety of eye conditions with medicine, surgery, and lasers including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, dry eyes, and many other ocular conditions. Sawyer Eye Center was founded in 2014 by Dr. Caleb Sawyer to serve the communities of Weatherford, Granbury, and areas west of the metroplex. Dr. Sawyer graduated from Granbury High School before attending Abilene Christian University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where he received a Doctorate of Allopathic Medicine (MD) and Masters of Business Administration in Health Organization Management (MBA HOM) in 2002. He then continued his medical training at Texas Tech completing an internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Ophthalmology in 2006. Dr. Sawyer is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is proud to provide care to our military veterans through collaboration with the VA medical system. He is also committed to providing critically needed eye surgery through medical missions to developing countries. Outside of his profession, Caleb enjoys partnering with various church ministries and vacationing anywhere in the cool mountain air above 6000 ft. He and his wife have four children and enjoy living in Texas near extended family.
